“LA’s unparalleled gem,” Ocean seamlessly blends vintage with the digital age, business with feelings of home, and privacy with, well … PRIVACY!

Ocean Studios, in operation since the early 90’s, has been host to many successful artists over the course of its illustrious career. Since its inception as Los Angeles’ premier, commercially-private studio, Ocean has seen many Grammy nominated & winning artists/engineers/producers, as well as many multiple platinum and gold record projects, craft their works of art within our walls. Considered a landmark among the elite recording community, Ocean continues to impress all those who bear witness to its awesome 6,400 sq. foot structure and magnificent, timeless & unique mic/gear collection – what’s ours is yours! And it’s awe-inspiring, 2,000 sq. ft tracking room with 22’ high ceilings allow for acoustics rarely paralleled.

But merely seeing all that Ocean has to offer is only a fraction of the total experience. As Chad Smith (Drummer, Red Hot Chili Peppers) puts it, “…the drum sounds were among the best I’ve ever recorded.” And regarding Ocean’s custom 56 input, 80 series Neve console, the late, great Producer/Engineer/Mixer Jerry Finn (Blink 182, Green Day, Goo Goo Dolls, Sum 41) said, it’s “… the best sounding console in LA.”

With nearly three decades at the epicenter of the music industry’s top musicians, engineers and producers, Ocean is no stranger to providing a world-class experience for all who enter.

An ode to a legendary artist and his timeless music, we lay no claim to Jim or The Doors’ legacy — only to preserve the humble & honorable tradition of recording classic records that transcend time. We feel this image is simply a beautiful, human moment between two people that many of us in the community can relate to … or, at the very least, will INSPIRE wonder in all of us. – Mural by

We lost a good friend of the studio the other day. Johnny was one of a kind and truly unique. I confess to not knowing who he was when I first worked with him almost 9 years ago now; most Americans still don't. But his legacy is astounding, [per Wiki] with a career spanning 57 years, 181 tours, 18 platinum albums, and selling more than 110 million records worldwide, making him one of the world's best-selling artists of all time. Despite his massive success, Johnny was a pleasure to be around and quite funny. I used to take pictures of all the crazy, out of this world cars he would pull up to the studio in, and through the years he always wanted to rent our 251 with the tilted capsule every time he would rehearse for a tour. RIP, Johnny Hallyday
